How we track your data
Workforce Intelligence tracks employees of each of our member companies through a monthly census. We use this feed to see where the employees are moving throughout the organization. If an employee falls off the census, they get counted as a termination. If their position changes from (for example) an Assistant Manager to a General Manager, they are counted as a management promotion. Because of the level of detail we receive, we are able to provide comprehensive transaction (termination, hire, promotion) information including breakouts of demographic and compensation data along with the detail that we provide for the incumbent population of employees.
How we create Workforce Intelligence benchmarks
Using each data feed across the Workforce Intelligence consortium, we are able to compile the data into industry benchmarks. We aggregate our member data into distributions for all of the metrics that we track. From there we are able to provide you with performance in the middle of the distribution (or median) as well as a range of performance in quartiles or percentiles (typically from the 25th to 75th percentiles). These data points can be compared against your internal numbers calculated by Workforce Intelligence to see how you stack up against your competitive set. Since we are using the same calculation methodology for all of our member companies, you can be assured that you are seeing 'apples to apples' comparisons.
